Pakistan Influencer Awards launches in Karachi with Ipsos as research partner
A new awards platform says it will rank creators on data and audit its process, with advisers from major agencies and broadcasters.

A new programme called the Pakistan Influencer Awards was launched at an evening event in Karachi, according to Brandsynario and Synergyzer, which both reported on it in the first days of August. Organisers describe it as an industry backed, data led platform for recognising digital creators.
Talha Aslam, the awards' chief curator, said the platform was established to recognise and celebrate influence and aims to raise the bar for an industry that deserves global recognition, Brandsynario reported. Synergyzer quoted him saying the ambition is to elevate the whole ecosystem by advocating credibility, transparency and responsible influence.
Creators will be judged on criteria including engagement, consistency, community influence, educational value and audience reach. Abdul Sattar Babar, chief executive of Ipsos in Pakistan, presented the research, audit and transparency framework. Ipsos Pakistan is the research partner.
Who is behind it
The team includes Faraz Bashir, director of data, insights and evaluation, and Hassaan Azhar, director of partnerships and growth. The advisory board lists Fouad Husain, chief executive of Starcrest Communications, Hasan Rizvi, chief executive of BBPR Pakistan, and Jerjees Seja, chief executive of ARY Digital Network.
The launch included keynote conversations, a creator discussion hosted by Dino Ali with Asad Memon, Bilal Munir, Junaid Akram and Natasha Lakhani, a music performance, and the live unveiling of the awards' brand identity and trophy.
The reports do not name the company behind the awards, list the categories or give a date or venue for the first ceremony. Brand spending on creators in Pakistan has been moving towards performance based deals, and a credible, audited ranking could give agencies a common reference. Whether it wins that trust will depend on how openly the scoring is run.
