Pakistan's IT exports reach a monthly high of $417 million in July
State Bank data shows technology exports edged past June's record, rising 18 percent from a year earlier as the new fiscal year began.

Pakistan's IT exports climbed to $417 million in July 2026, the highest monthly figure on record, according to State Bank of Pakistan data reported this week by several local outlets.
The number is about 18 percent above the $354 million recorded in July 2025, PhoneWorld reported. It is also a small step above June's $416 million, which means monthly exports have now stayed above the $400 million mark for two months running.
Over the twelve months to July, IT exports came to roughly $4.66 billion, a rise of about 20 percent on the previous twelve month period, according to figures from Topline Securities cited by Bloom Pakistan. For the 2025 26 fiscal year as a whole, PhoneWorld put telecom, computer and information services exports at $4.6 billion, up 21 percent from $3.8 billion a year before.
Where the money comes from
IT made up about 45 percent of Pakistan's total services exports in July, which rose 27 percent to $927 million, PhoneWorld said. Bloom Pakistan, citing Topline, added that net IT exports, after the cost of imported IT services and equipment, were $344 million, up 9 percent.
Minute Mirror reported that freelancers earned about $2.2 billion of the sector's receipts in the last fiscal year.
Analysts quoted by Minute Mirror said exports could pass $5 billion in the current fiscal year. PhoneWorld flagged risks, including the possible effect of AI on knowledge work, as well as load shedding and the stability of the rupee. Outlets differ on the full year total for 2025 26, with some giving $4.5 billion and others $4.6 billion.
