Brazilian payments firm Ebanx plans to launch in Pakistan in 2027
Ebanx will connect merchants to JazzCash and Easypaisa first, then to the Raast instant payment system, as it adds Pakistan to its list of emerging markets.

Ebanx, the Brazilian payments company, plans to start operating in Pakistan in the first half of 2027. It announced the plan on 24 September 2026 at its annual Payments Summit, according to PYMNTS.
The first payment methods to go live will be the mobile wallets JazzCash and Easypaisa, which Ebanx says each have more than 50 million users. Integration with Raast, the State Bank of Pakistan's instant payment system, is due to follow. The Paypers, which cited the company's press release, reported a looser timeline of the next semester.
Ebanx, founded in Brazil in 2012, said merchant demand and the complexity of the market drove the decision. The Paypers reported that Pakistan follows five markets added earlier in 2026: Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia, Vietnam and Turkiye.
The case Ebanx makes
The company pointed to several figures in support. Using World Data Lab estimates, it expects Pakistan's ecommerce spending to grow by about 22 percent a year from 2026 to 2030. Credit card ownership among people aged 15 to 30 is below 10 percent, it said, while smartphone ownership runs 20 to 40 percentage points ahead of card ownership.
It also cited State Bank data showing Raast transactions doubling from 371.2 million in the third quarter of fiscal 2025 to 742.1 million in the same quarter of fiscal 2026.
For Pakistani merchants selling online, and for foreign sellers trying to reach local buyers who rarely hold cards, a single provider that connects to the main wallets and to Raast could simplify checkout. The announcement did not name local merchant partners, and Ebanx has not said whether it needs a licence or a local partner to operate in Pakistan.
Reported from PYMNTS and The Paypers, both drawing on Ebanx's announcements.
