Bioniks and PSO launch programme to fit prosthetic limbs for the underprivileged
More than 100 people have already received arms and legs through the oil company's CSR Trust, chief executive Anas Niaz said at the launch in Karachi.

Bioniks and Pakistan State Oil have launched a joint programme to provide prosthetic limbs to underprivileged Pakistanis who have lost arms or legs, funded through the PSO Corporate Social Responsibility Trust. The programme was announced at a ceremony at PSO House in Karachi attended by beneficiaries, including women and children, The News reported on 8 February 2026.
Chief executive Anas Niaz said more than 100 people, among them men, women and children, had so far received limbs through the partnership. The devices are linked to a cloud system so that technicians can monitor them and fix faults remotely, which the company says spares users in distant districts a trip to Karachi.
Niaz told the ceremony that the programme expanded a locally developed technology that was already being exported. Bioniks says its arms are shipped to Jordan, where its partner clinic fits Gaza war survivors, and that beneficiaries in Japan use them. Business Recorder carried the same figures the same week. The partnership adds a corporate sponsor to a funding model that has so far relied on paying customers, donors, provincial government orders and a pilot with UN Women in interior Sindh.
